Once your website is built and content is in place, your job as a blogger/webmaster are far from over. This is only the beginning! SEO is one of the most important things to keep in mind as you continue to build and shape your site into an empire. How do you know if you site’s SEO is as high as it needs to be? You use website analysis tools to learn your SEO score, and improve the factors that are low or lacking!

Every website analysis tool you use will give you a different rating, but they will all reveal different things that need your attention as well. Your SEO score really is a dynamic, ever-evolving beast that needs your constant attention. In my “What is SEO” post, I discuss the various factors and elements that go into the SEO of your site. These same elements are factored into your SEO score. Learn them, know them, dream about them when you sleep! Welcome to the SEO show: the story of you life as a website person.

What Is A Website Analysis Tool?

Through the years, I have discovered a handful of kickass website analysis tools that give you a birds eye view of why your site is or isn’t ranking for your chosen keywords. These tools will grade your site based on numerous factors such as:

  • nofollow/dofollow links ratio
  • total number of backlinks and referring domains
  • duplicate content
  • Indexable pages not in sitemap
  • site speed
  • images without an alt attribute
  • indexed pages with more than one H1 tag
  • and much, MUCH more…

I think you get the point. There are so many factors that you need to be aware of. There are SEO aspects, technical aspects, and content aspects – all of which count towards your overall SEO score. Google is a smart cookie. They can see your entire site, how popular it is, what people say about it, and how good you are at conveying your personal message to your intended target audience. No website analysis tool will give you the whole story, but by using a few tools, you can get data that the other tools may have missed.
